La Unión is one of the leading horticultural and fruit producing and trading companies in Spain. Its infrastructure, which spans the provinces of Almería and Granada, handled over 200 million kilos of produce in the 2008/9 for the main distribution chains, logisticians and wholesalers in Spain and Europe. The forecast for the 2009/10 season is for the volume to reach 260 million kilos.
There are over 2000 growers involved in the process. These are all under the supervision of the technical department which ensures the observance of safety regulations and optimum product quality. The company has been awarded the Global Gap and Integrated Production certificates.
Its management model, cost effectiveness, investment in technical development and innovation and robotization has been designed to achieve the main objective: To offer top quality produce at the most competitive price.
The horticultural and fruit market, as we see it, means looking after our more than 800 employees while offering an extensive range of produce and agile response to sector demands. This has allowed us to expand rapidly and achieve company recognition at European level.
